path to Kennelz and bitz

LORI: Lori grew up around animals all of her life. She not only was raised on a hobby farm, but has won many awards through 4-H, FFA and open class with cattle, horses, cats and more. Lori has always been very active in her community, and even ran two business at the same time. A child daycare center, and a Direct Sales Party Plan based company. When Gordy met Lori she was a children's librarian who also tutored new peek a booamericans English, and helped them apply for jobs, housing, and citizenship needs. Lori also conducted computer classes for the elderly. So not only does she possess great skills with animals, patience for entertaining children, she can also help you with computer questions! Gordy talked Lori and her two boys into moving from Wisconsin to Minnesota. Lori's hobbies include reading, horse back riding, THE PACKERS....yes, she is a cheesehead and loves to record special events through scrap booking.

JESSE: Jesse is in 12th grade, when he's not playing football, basketball or track he is at home playing his video games, playing his guitar, or on the phone talking to girls. He has a band that is called EOC and he sings as well as plays electric guitar.  Jesse turned 117 in May, and is proud of his frist car.  He has always loved animals, and is very patient with them. He used to help out his mom a lot with the little tikes when she did day care, so plays an instrumental role with the kennel operation as well. He is the night time clean up guy throughout the week, and is enjoying the extra money. Jesse also washes dishes at Lakeside View in Barnum.  During the summer months Jesse and his brother spend more time with their dad in Wisconsin.

BILLY: Bill is in 10thGrade, and is getting GREAT grades. He enjoys hanging out with fellow band members and is looking forward to his second year of football. He loves to listen to music that is played too loud and can sing fantastic.  He loves spending time by himself, exploring in the woods and playing in dirt. He is getting into bow hunting this year and is excited to go deer hunting with his grandpa. He is very instrumental in helping out with the pets because he likes to roll in the dirt as much as they do! Billy is helping Gordy out with the Forever Petz Cremation side of our business, and I am amazed how detailed oriented he has become with his new job duties.

Arthur is Emmy's brother, and we LOVE watching him play with the dogs.  You will see him having a race with the labs....and usually wins, so that tells you how quick he is.  He likes to play baseball, and has a quick smile to greet you!

Stacy is a High school student Moose lake, she loves playing with the puppies and kittens. She will play ball with the pets as well as hop into the pool with them....some days she ends up being more wet then the dogs!

Thank you for wanting to find out more about Kennelz and Bitz, and the people who are dedicated to keeping your loved ones happy, health, and safe!!

After years of people telling Gordy and myself that we needed find something that required working with animals, we finally decided to heed the advice, and turned our love and passion for animals into a career.  We knew that we would want to raise the Kennel Industry Standards in our area, and to be able to provide a much needed service in Minnesota.  We wanted to hire a staff of animal lovers such as ourselves that would love to play with prized pets, and wouldnt feel silly having fun with their fuzzy new friends, as well as being liked by the two legged customers.  We wanted to offer the younger generation a fun place to come and work, and learn the proper care of animals under our strict supervision with hopes of them wanting to expand this employment oppurtunity to a career choice.  We also did not want your loved one to spend hours a day all alone, so we decided to hire a staff that would  allow your pet the convenenience of human companionship for at least 17 hours a day!

We wanted to provide jobs in the community as well as to ensure that we did NOT suffer from job burn out.  No matter how fun and rewarding someone's career is, everyone still needs time off to regenerate their batteries, and to spend time with family and friends.  We know all too well how busy everyone's lives are and unfortunately it seems we are losing our family values because we're not taking time to smell the roses.  By having a full staff for the evenings and the weekends, this ensures us time to spend with family members, and to be able to attend conferances and animal training clinics to expand our education without having to close our business.  And because we live on the same property, we still are here 7 days a week, we just get a break now to ride our horses, to go out to dinner, and to enjoy our children.

The goal of raising the Industry Standards has also been accomplished. We have been hearing great things about local kennels updating and enlarging their boarding facilities which will only help our area to be known as having the best boarding facilities around! Great job fellow kennel operators.

GORDY: Gordy is employed at the Moose Lake Correctional Facility, as the Industry Director.  He teaches inmates the printing trade, and supervises 20 civilian workers. Gordy grew up loving animals, fast cars, and working in the garage. Before meeting Lori you would have been able to find Gordy on the lake fishing walleyes, riding up and down the snow mobile trails, and at the race tracks. Now the best place to find him is in the pasture working with the horses, or on the deck looking at the horses. You'll see his smiling face in the afternoons and on the weekends when you come visit us. He is a great carpenter, he keeps adding additions to our home, and built our kennel from the ground up.  He is always giving loved ones home made wooden gifts, he is talented in so many areas.  He is also in charge of the Forever Pet Cremation, the other division of our business.  He is a great socializer and pays attention to details, isn't happy unless everything is running smoothly...yes, he is one of those perfectionist types of people!! Gordy is waiting until the day he can build his second hot rod car to travel around in with Lori, and having a horse trailer hooked to the back.

JON: Jon is a Moose Lake graduate, who had decided early on that he would complete school at Lake Superior College which is where he obtained his machinist certificates. Jon just celebrated his 23rd birthday. Fortunately for Jon he was able to find a job in the cities that is allowing him to put his degree to work, but found out that being indoors all day was not for him.  He decided to head out on the highway on his motorcycle and traveled throughout each state before he found his ideal job.  He works for a company that travels from state to state, and is making great money fixing things that operators break!  He probably now has more tools then his dad!!

WOW!! The water is looking great to go for a swim

JEREMY:  Jeremy is almost 20, and currently lives in Grand Rapids.  He loves to snowmobile, ice fish and deer hunt.  He sold his first car that he restored all on his own, and is now driving the old ford truck that Gordy restored.   Jeremy is kept busy with his fulltime girlfriend, and helps us out with cleaning the kennel and other odds and ends jobs around here.

Jennah is a Junior at Willow River High School.  She is great with the animals, and is very detailed when it comes to cleaning and filling out paperwork.  We love having her on board to keep everyone in line!!

Emmy is the quitest but most hard working member of our staff.  Her background for animals started at home.  She lives on a farm in Kettle River and is active in Dog Obediance classes, and agility.  Hopefully in the future she will be offering these classes locally herself. Currently she is helping me out with the grooming to give me more free time to play with the animals.
